Subject: Proposal for a Combined Research Center on Nuclear Decommissioning, Solar Thermal Storage and Hydrogen Production – using decommissioned Nuclear Power Plants

From: Eric Hoyer – Inventor of the Hoyer-Parabolic Solar Heating System and Solid-State Heat Storage

Dear Sir or Madam,

Decommissioned nuclear power plants offer a rarely considered yet optimal infrastructure for cutting-edge energy and safety research. Based on decades of technical development and calculation, I propose the following:

Project Summary:

Title:
Reactivation of Decommissioned Nuclear Sites for Research in Heat Storage, Hydrogen, and Long-Term Waste Observation

Core Components:

  • Solar thermal energy through Hoyer’s parabolic concentrators (3 m and 7 m systems)

  • High-temperature solid-state storage using speckstone and metal (500–900 °C)

  • Hydrogen production integrated with solid-state cycles

  • Research on radioactive decay behavior under long-term heat exposure

  • Alternative disposal methods using geological plate subduction and glass/metal encapsulation without Castor containers

  • Zero-cost heating and power through in-house solar thermal infrastructure

Advantages:

  • Full autonomy in heat and power

  • Existing shielding, facilities and halls allow protected research

  • No need for expensive new buildings or isolated end-storage projects

  • Unique combination of practical engineering, safety studies, and energetic recycling of post-nuclear materials

This is not a theoretical model. It is ready for implementation and modular expansion. I look forward to seeing how institutions respond when faced with practical, low-cost, and high-impact ideas from outside traditional circles.

Sincerely
Eric Hoyer
